One version (from BMW-North's link) showed DSC (Under ECU) and not MK60, while it did pull VIN properly. First we will need to set up a coding profile within NCS expert. Click on Process ECU and choose KOMBI, then click on Read ECU. Everything is available in the BMW Software folder on drive C and in the start menu. Load the profile, click on edit and then VIN, ****, (upper right) and make sure all 4 function keys are checked. So the "Factory Coding" profile is "expert mode". The two profiles i stick to are "expertmode" and "revtor's expert profile". You don't need a specific profile and the name of it is meaningless. I've got the blue cable as supplied by BMWcables.
